| Description | The register serves a general custody register between June 1880 and January 1882. Thereafter the register is used only for those held in custody for transfer to other police forces, known as 'foreign prisoners'. For each person held in custody, the register gives date of apprehension, name, designation and place of residence, sex, age, offence, cell number, bail, apprehending officer, property found on person, date of disposal, how and by whom. |
