Annual reports were published for each calendar year from 1975 to 1995. In 1994 and 1995, the annual report was supplemented by a shorter publication entitled 'Policing Grampian'. An annual report was not produced in 1996 and 1997; instead a statistical report was published each year alongside 'Policing Grampian'. An annual report covering each financial year was published for each year from 1998/99 to 2003/04. Thereafter a report was delivered to the Grampian Joint Police Board.
he annual reports describe the activities of each territorial and support division. Comprehensive accounts are given up to 1989, thereafter the accounts are more selective. From 1999/2000 to 2001/02 the reports include also an outline of activities in each of the strategic intention areas: drugs, crime, community safety, roads policing and operational delivery. Each annual report carries a statistical summary focusing on crimes and offences reports and detected. Graphs analysing patterns of death and injury are included in the reports for 1976 to 1989. Since 1990 statistics on personnel, road accidents, licensing (1990 to 1995 only) and income and expenditure (since 1998/99 only) are given.
'Policing Grampian' for 1994 constitutes a summary of the 1994 annual report. The issues for 1995 to 1997 contain instead news items on Force developments and achievements, staffing matters and major and local incidents, and an outline of policing activities on drugs, road traffic and house breaking. All issues include photographs.
The two annual statistical reports comprise statistical tables on crimes and offences, personnel, road traffic and licensing, and brief accompanying text. Both include some photographs. |
