Description | Personnel register, organised alphabetically by surname of officer. The register is divided into two sections: officers of Kincardineshire Constabulary and officers of Banffshire Constabulary. The register sheets were prepared and used by the two constabularies prior to 1949, but were placed in a single volume by Scottish North East Counties Constabulary. Occasional updates were made to the register sheets by Scottish North East Counties Constabulary until 1965. Both register sheets follow a similar format giving the name of officer, date and place of birth, marital status, physical description, pay, promotions, transfers (Banffshire only), date of retirement, misconduct record and medical history. Also gives name, occupation and address of officer's parents and spouse, and name, date of birth and address of officer's children. The Kincardineshire Constabulary section includes officers in force in 1924 (the longest-serving of whom was appointed on 3 November 1890) and those appointed between 1924 and 15 May 1949. The Banffshire Constabulary section includes officers in force in 1920 (the longest serving of whom was appointed on 9 March 1886) and those appointed between 1920 and 15 May 1949. The details in this section appear to duplicate information in the Banffshire Constabulary personnel register. 1920 - 5 August 1965 [mostly 1920 - 15 May 1949] |
