Minutes of meetings of the Town Council are recorded in Court Books (AS/Bbnf/6) for 22 Sep 1649 - 16 February 1650, 10 Jul 1652 - 1682, and 12 Oct 1728 - 8 May 1731.

From 1901 to 1921 minutes of the committees of the Town Council were recorded in a separate series of minute books: after 1921 committee minutes were again included in the main series of Town Council minutes.
