Administrative HistoryThe Scottish North East Counties Constabulary (SNECC) was an amalgamated police force, formed by the merger of Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Kincardineshire and Moray & Nairn Constabularies in 1949. It was succeeded by the regional Grampian Police force (see POL/GP) and the Nairn area was transferred to the Northern Constabulary.

New force headquarters were opened at Bucksburn on the 14th May 1964. A Western Divisional Headquarters was opened at Elgin on the 21st May 1963.
