  <dc:description>Majority address to James Riddel, treasurer to the Harbour Trustees, until his death in November 1842; thereafter addressed to his successor Alexander Reid.
The authors of the letters include: 
- John Gibb (1776-1850), a Civil Engineer who was involved in many harbour works at Aberdeen and worked alongside Thomas Telford. He worked with his son, Alexander, from a site at Waterloo Quay.
