Aberdeen Harbour Board: Letter from Mary Law & Miss Hay, Elgin, Intimation to uplift Letter to Mr. Riddel. Letter head: "Academy Street, Elgin, 16th September 1842." Letter reads as follows: "Sir, as Treasurer of the Harbour Trustees, I wish to inform you through my friend Mr. Fraser of the Town House, that I intend to lift my £500 which is in your hands at the 20th December next and that my sister Miss Hay wishes to get up at the same time £200 of her (?) the other 300 she would leave if agreeable to you. I remain Sir, your obedient servant, Mary Law." 16th September 1842
