The Provost laid before the Council a printed copy of certain minutes of the  Annual Committee of the Convention of Royal Burghs, held on 12 October 1824,  along with a circular letter from Mr John Irving, Agent for the Royal Burghs,  appointing a special meeting of the Convention in Edinburgh on 22 November 1824  to discuss whether to support the Burgh of Brechin which had recently been  served with a summons of reduction and declarator at the instance of His  Majesty's Officers of State respecting the setts and constitution of the  Convention [circular engrossed]. The Council elected Provost Hadden to be the  Town's Commissioner to attend the special meeting. (89r - 90v)</dc:description>
