The Baillie appoints the above named persons to mount guard this night at Eight o'Clock and to continue thereon till the morrow morning at four o'clock. The said Nicholas Irvine to be Captain and the paid James Simpson to be Lieutenant. The Captain is to cause patrol hourly through the streets during the night and to take care that the peace be kept. Each person to attend his duty under the penalty of £20 Scots. The Captain to report his Dilligence to the Majistrate the morrow at 12 o'clock.
