TitleAberdeen Harbour Board: Letter from Gavin Walker, Rathen
DescriptionLetter to James Riddel: "Sir, I take the freedom to write with regard of sending out my certificates I would have attended personally when I was requested in town at the time when I applied for one of the situations for a Harbour Meter. But I was engaged on the harvest field and my master would not allow me to come upon any terms. But if there should be any of the situations open afterwards or any such like and my certificates prove satisfactory, but if they do not I could get more if there were any of the situations that I could prove satisfactory. I may say for this some time past I have been employed working at a place where is made and I am not engaged but by the week and if any situation were open I would discharge faithfully and honestly the duties that did devolve upon me and I will be greatly obliged if you would forward my certificates. I am Sir, your obedient servant, Gavin Walker. Direct to Gavin Walker care of Mr. Taylor, Quarryhead, Rathen by Fraserburgh."
