TitleAberdeen Harbour Board: Tender for Turn Bridge from Dundee Iron Foundry
DescriptionLetter addressed to James Riddel Esq, Harbour Treasurer. Letter head reads: "Dundee, 6 March 1832." Letter reads: "Sir, we hereby make after to furnish and fit up the Turn Bridge wanted for the Aberdeen Harbour, agreeably to the plans and specification prepared by the Messrs. Gibb for the sum of sixteen hundred and forty nine pounds (œ1649). Regarding any extra work or deductory which may occur in the course of the work we have no objections to refer the rate of charge for finished (?) work to the Messrs. Gibb, and to furnish timber at the cost price in Aberdeen. For the Dundee Iron Foundry, I am Sir, your very obedient servant, Alexander Meldrum, Manager."
