The Council empowered Mr Hardie, the Chamberlain, to pay the arrears of salaries of £126 5 shillings due to five of the Town Sergeants and to the Townhouse Keeper, and the salary arrears of £60 due to the Jailer. (133r - 133v)

The Council approved the letter to be sent to the clergy, stating the clergy's duty to lodge lists of all baptisms with Mr Falconer, Keeper of the Register of Baptisms, and requesting lists of all baptisms since the Kirk Session's interference, so that the chasm in the Register could be completed. [Letter engrossed. Also engrossed, copy of a notice in the Aberdeen Journal, 16 April 1817, declaring parents' duty to register births with the Keeper of the Register of Baptisms.] (133v - 134v)
