Title	Extract Act of the Town Council of Aberdeen for indemnifying the Provost and Magistrates for refusing to attest Provost Mowat's Attorneys and other papers going to Virginia
Description	Act of 1st September 1762 minuting Requisition of Provost Mowat & Company against the Provost and Magistrates along with the tenor of Council's answers to the Requisition to the effect that Provost Mowat's actions interfere with the common good of the town of Aberdeen, particularly referencing his pretended private debt of John Elphinston and illegal conveyance of the effects and estate of John Elphinston being contrary to the laws of Scotland. Council approves the action of Provost Davidson in not attesting the bills of Provost Mowat.
