Description | Letter to James Riddel. Letter head: "Aberdeen, 8 Adelphi, 8th September 1840." Letter reads as follows: "Dear Sir, I now beg to send you £23 of being another half years' feu duty for Mortimers Houses. I regret that I cannot make a longer payment at present, but owing to repairs, and one a time place on the house yeilding little or nothing and is impossible for me to do so. Indeed I have nothing in hand at present, and this payment I am obliged to advance myself. At present, however, the houses are let to greater advantage, and next half year I hope to be able to make up a good part of the arrears. Yours truly, David Monro. P.S, Please send me a statement of arrears." |
