Letter reads as follows: "Dear Sir, in consequence of the death of Mr. Rickman the management of the affairs of Mr. Telford has devolved on me as one of his Executors and finding in going over his books that the Aberdeen Harbour Company stand indebted to him for services as Civil Engineer to the amount of £21- as by the enclosed memorandum, I shall feel obliged by your forwarding the claim to the Company as it is desirable that all outstanding debts should now be liquidated.
