DescriptionLetter addressed to the Harbour Trustees of Aberdeen: "Gentlemen, understanding that the situation of Assistant to the Captain Pilot is at present vacant, I beg leave most respectfully to offer myself as a candidate to fill the situation. I am 30 years of age and by profession, a Dyer, should I be appointed to fill the situation, I shall discharge the duties of it to the best of my ability and I trust to your satisfaction, I am Gentlemen, your most obedient humble servant, John Bannerman."
