DescriptionLetter addressed to the Harbour Trustees of Aberdeen: "Gentlemen, agreeably to the advertisement in the newspapers I beg leave to make offer of my services to fill the situation of an Assistant to the Captain Pilot and other duties to be performed at the lower quays which dutys I have reason to think of can satisfactorily perfrom of have now been 2 and a half years employed about the harbour and was bred a seaman and am 38 years of age and for the last twelve months of have acted as one of the day patrol on the quays, for information as to character and qualifications of take the liberty of referring to Mr. Gibb, Engineer- and am Gentlemen, your very obedient servant, Alexander Mitchell."
