TitleAberdeen Harbour Board: Representation of Herring Curers, Aberdeen
DescriptionLetter to James Riddel: "Sir, at a meeting of the undersigned Herring Curers of this port- it was considered that the boats had great difficulty in obtaining the stations in the harbour owing to the strong current of the tide- they deem it necessary for the assistance of the fishermen to be supplied with a rope and buoy extending from the lower gitti [jetty?] to the mouth of the harbour, and also as in other fishing towns for a light at the point of the pier. The undersigned request you to have the goodness to lay these considerations before the Harbour Trustees as soon as possible and you will oblige your humble servants, Charles Gordon, Hay & Michie, Angus Ross."
