Description | Letter to the Harbour Trustees. Letter head: "Provost Blaikie's Quay, 12th December 1837." Letter reads as follows: "Gentlemen, we are induced by the huge amount of annual rent we pay your board, to address you craving you to take into consideration the exposed and unprotected state of our property on this quay at night. We trust you will place us on the same footing with those on the opposite quay who enjoy the advantage from you of having their property protected by Nightwatchmen, respectfully soliciting your attention to this matter, we are Gentlemen, yours truly, the Aberdeen Commercial Company & Aberdeen Lime Company." |
