| Description | Letter to James Riddel from John Duffus & Co: "Sir, we deem in necessary to inform you that the machinery of the new tug boat is almost completed and now only waits for her being placed upon the ship for the purpose of having the holding down bolts fastened and the necessary pipes fixed in their place below water. For this purpose and to prevent delay we had intended to put the vessel upon Messrs Nicol Reid & Co's ship, in consequence of the Duke of Wellington presently occupying that belonging to the Harbour Trustees, but after making the necessary arrangements for that purpose, we find the hull is too broad; and we are therefore compelled to remain until the Duke comes off, which will prevent us going on with the machinery.
