DescriptionIn two parts. 1. A letter to James Riddel from Alexander Sutherland: "Sir, we Alexander Grant having taken that house from you at Middle Third for an Inn or public House at the yearly rent of ten pounds sterling, I heareby baind [bind] and oblige myself to see the said rent paid at the usual terms as follows, five pounds sterling at Martinmas and the other five pounds sterling at Whitsunday Eighteen Hundred and Thirty Nine on your putting the said house in an appropriate state of repair and I am Sir, your most obedient servant, Alexander Sutherland." 2. A note from a J. Walker at 24 Broad Street.
