DescriptionOriginally stored in cardboard plate box labelled "Copy Negatives. Construction of a pier".
The images are all photographs of photographs of the dock's construction: El Cable Ingles translates as "The English Dock".
The dock was constructed by the Alquife Mines and Railway Company Limtied of Glasgow to link Almeira's train station with the port, and facilitate the transport of iron from the Alquife mines. It was constructed in 1902-1904 and in 1998 was declared an "Bien de Interés Cultural"(Asset of Cultural Interest).
