Administrative History | The City of Aberdeen District Council was the successor authority to the Corporation of the City of Aberdeen. The District Authority also encompassed the Electoral Divisions of Bucksburn, Newhills Landward, Old Machar, and Stoneywood of the County of Aberdeen and Nigg, formerly in Kincardine, as well as the parishes of Dyce and Peterculter. The City of Aberdeen District Council operated as a District-level local authority under the two-tier District and Regional system of organisation from May 1974 until July 1996. It was superseded by Aberdeen City Council. |
