• Letter of W. Chalmers Bowie to Mr Hector concerning possibility of travelling expenses being paid for his attendance at the Languages Summer School in St. Andrews, Fife, in August, 19th June 1916.
• Letter of W. Chalmers Bowie to Mr Hector confirming that he is now a qualified Spanish teacher, and will teach a class in Spanish for the High School evening classes, 2nd September 1916.
• Letter of Duncan Clarke to Mr Hector concerning re-occupation of the building at Victoria Road School, 9th August 1916.
• Letter of Duncan Clarke to Mr Hector concerning reasons for the delay of re-occupying Victoria Road School, which seems to hinge on the uncertainty that the War Office will continue use of the building, 25th August 1916.
• Letter of Duncan Clarke to Mr Hector concerning “afternoon shift” occupation of Walker Road School by pupils of Victoria Road school. As there is danger to pupils having to walk further along dark streets, Clarke would prefer if Walker Road pupils, who live in proximity to the school, take the afternoon shift during the dark winter months, and Victoria Road pupils occupy the building in the mornings. 14th September 1916.
• Letter of W.H. Cranna to the Collector of Fees for the High School For Girls, regarding the awarding of a free scholarship to Dorothy Cranna by the City Committee on Secondary Education, 21st September 1916.
• Request of Mary Cruickshank to be transferred from Ashley Road School to the music department of the Girls High School, 8th September 1916.
• Letter of William B. Duguid to J. Hector, requesting additional teaching support following division of classes in the infant department as two classes were above maximum size and his current assistant, Miss Duff, is “hardly competent” – 29th August 1916.
• Request of Agnes Duff to transfer from Kittybrewster School to the Junior Department of the Grammar School, 16th August 1916.
• Request of G. Fulton that the concrete paving around Ruthrieston Public School be extended by twenty feet’s length from the walls in order to make the school and its staircases substantially cleaner, 13th June 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton intimating that a Sunday School picnic party entered Ruthrieston Public School the previous Saturday and ruined the infant department, also stealing every single pencil in the school. 26th June 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton concerning investigation into the identities of boys suspected of stone-throwing, including attached slip of paper with the names and addresses of two boys found to be guilty of the offence. 7th June 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton concerning the decision of the board in relation to the Navy League’s request with reference to the John J. Cornwall VC Memorial, 26th September 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton concerning the small number of entrants to the Ruthrieston Public School infants department and asserting that pupils from within their school district are being sent to other schools. 22nd August 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton stating regret that he is unable to devote time to gathering Sphagnum Moss for War Dressings as he has lost the services of a teacher and is on duty with local military movements until after eleven o’clock at night, but other local teachers may be able to help. 22nd August 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton requesting a taxi be charged to the board, as it was used to convey home a blind pupil who had collapsed in class. 17th August 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton concerning the further education in music of Douglas Pollock, stating that Miss Adams does not believe his aptitude deserves further work while Miss Walker who teaches the senior pupils believes his skill deserves further education in music. Notes that if he had more time to consider the matter, he would provide a better answer. 4th September 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton concerning recent letter received from the Navy League requesting a subscription for a memorial to honour J Cornwall VC, the “boy hero of the Jutland battle”, 18th September 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton concerning whether or not the 25th September is a public holiday, and confirming months during which a double attendance is to be recorded, 19th September 1916.
• Letter of George Fulton concerning pupils expected in Ruthrieston Public School who have been enrolled in Ashley Road Infants Department, 29th August 1916.
• Letter of W. Fyfe of Woodside Public School requesting order of books for the school library from the Sir John Anderson Fund, 30th June 1916.
• Request of Kathleen Fairweather of St. Clement Street School to transfer to the Grammar School as one of the teachers has married and had to resign, 14th August 1916.
• Letter of William Johnston of Holburn Street Public School and bearing the stamp of John Croll, Solicitor, regarding allegations that the disciplinary measures of Miss Pope are too severe, 17th June 1916.
• Letter of William Johnston, Holburn Street Public School, concerning reorganisation of school structure following the summer holiday, 22nd June 1916.
• Letter of William Johnston, Holburn Street Public School, relating to Miss Mackay be given charge of a supplementary class recently left without teaching staff following Mr. Reid being called up for military service, 28th June 1916.
• Letter of George Innes to the Scotch Education department requesting recognition as a teacher of singing, including all qualifications and particulars. Typescript, undated.
• Letter of G.A. Innes to T Hector, requesting leave to attend a summer course at the Ionic Sol-Fa College, London, 19th July 1916.
• Letter of John R Lack concerning morning and afternoon attendance at Walker Road school following division of time at the school between pupils from Walker Road and Victoria Road Schools. 16th September 1916.
• Letter of DB Lothian to Thomas Hector concerning 9 consecutive years of perfect school attendance by Ronald Webster, a pupil at Sunnybank Public School, 20th June 1916.
• Letter of DB Lothian to Thomas Hector concerning outlay for swimming lessons for Sunnybank pupils, 27th January 1916.
• Letter of DB Lothian to the Clerk of the School Board concerning reorganisation of Sunnybank school structure as there are now sufficient pupils for a 4th Supply class, 23rd August 1916.
• Report of Mark MacDonald of Rubislaw Special School to the clerk of the school board that a pupil is a “low grade defective” – claims she is strong and powerfully built, and has been in the school for six years. As she is now 15 and a half, he recommends she be detained in an institution, 1st September 1916.
• Report of Mark MacDonald of Rubislaw Special School to the School Board on a pupil at the special school, claiming that with training he would be able to become a farm servant. 1st June 1916.
• Report of Mark MacDonald of Rubislaw Special School to the School Board on a pupil, stating that she would be unable to earn more than a partial living for herself and her pliable disposition would mean that she would be safer under regular supervision. 1st September 1916.
• Letter of John R McKenzie informing Thomas Hector that he is to be transferred to the 1st Labour Company, 3rd Battalion Highland Light Infantry, and would be indebted to him if he could do anything to hasten his return to teaching. 7th June 1916.
