• J. D. Anderson. Head Teacher, Ferryhill Public School. 13 November 1890. Letter to the School Board with details of the school roll. Mr Anderson gives figures for the nine weeks and for comparison provides figures for the same period in 1889.
• Miss C. S. Copland. Teacher, [ Not specified as Head Teacher]. Chalmers’ Public School. 14 November 1890. Letter to the School Board with details of numbers of certificates required for Standards III to VI and requesting 3 honours certificates, one each for Christina Anderson, Maggie McGregor and Lizzie Booth.
• James C. Barnett. Head Teacher, Middle Public School. 28 October 1890. Letter to the School Board expressing his opinion on the transition from fee paying to free education in schools. One of the points made by Mr Barnett is that he feels that absenteeism will increase as a consequence.
• John Beaumont. Head Teacher. Commerce Street Public School. 25 November 1890. A letter to the School Board which includes a Books Required slip detailing books to be purchased and price details, via the School Board, for Jane Merson VI Standard.
• Duncan Clarke. 36 Mount Street. 5 November 1890. [Neither the name of the school nor Mr Clarke’s position are given in the letter.] Mr Clarke reported to the School Board that 103 men had paid for admission to the Book-Keeping Class and that they thought the classes were cheap and would have paid 5/-. Mr Clarke also reported that although the class were working men, he found them “particularly gentlemanly both in manners and appearance.”
• Allan Gauld. Marywell Street Evening School. 21 October 1890. Letter to the School Board with details of the numbers of pupils on the roll and requesting an Assistant to support Mr Watson.
• James Campbell. Head Teacher, Dr Bell’s Public School. 22 November 1890. Letter to the School Board requesting more skilled staff member and provides roll numbers in the Infant Department to justify the request.

• James Daring, Ross’s Public School, December 29th, 1890- encloses the reading list for the school
• James Daring, Ross’s Public School, December 29th, 1890- encloses the number of pupils at the school from the district lying south of Union Street
• James Daring, Ross’s Public School, December 3rd, 1890- requests additional pupil teachers due to increased numbers
• Alexander Forbes, Marywell Street public School, October 24th, 1890- encloses the number of pupils at the school in the living in the ‘North of Union’
• Alexander Forbes, Marywell Street public School, December 1st, 1890- addresses the problem of over population in the school
• Alex Green, Causewayend public School, October 23rd, 1890- encloses a statement of the weekly percentages of absentees in the school
• T. Hynd, King Street Public School, October 21st, 1890- encloses a letter to the school board removing an Alexander Watt from the school, with a letter attached explaining why
• R. G Watson, Porthill Public School, November 18th, 1890- writes a letter of recommendation for Miss Euphemia Jamieson and encloses other letters of the same
• Grammar School, November 24th, 1890- Makes a list of all the bursars at grammar school and totals the cost of this
• M. Mile, Primrose Public School, December 5th, 1890- expresses the fact that the school is full on admissions and is unable to help with complaints that schools are unable to take children
• John McKenzie, Skene Street Public School, October 23rd, 1890- encloses the number of pupils at the school from the district lying south of Union Street
• John McLachlan, Ashley Road Public School, October 30th, 1890- noes the number of pupils at the school residing north of the line at union street
• John McLachlan, Ashley Road Public School, November 13th, 1890- requests more desks due to the large number of pupils at the school
• J. Rose, Albion Street School, October 23rd, 1890- raises discussion points over the impacts of free education on the attendance at the school
• William Robertson, St Paul Street School, November 6th, 1890- requests the board reconsider its question over the discontinuance of the school
• John Roy, Dr Brown’s Public School, November 6th, 1890- requests the board relax the rule limiting the number of admissions due to an assumed influx of applicants after the schools inspection
• L Skea, St Paul Street School, November 17th, 1890- presents an argument against the implementation of quarterly exams for pupil teachers
