Description | "Factory and Commission by the Burgh appointing "Thomas Menzies and Provost Gilbert Menzies of Findone [Findon], Alex[ande]r Stratoun of thet Ilk, Sir John Ruthirfurd [Rutherford] knycht" and other Burgesses, Commissioners to appear before, and obtain Redress from the Arbiters appointed to judge between the Burgh and the Clan Leslie, for "the gret cruell morthouris [murders], Slachtiriss [slaughters], mutillationiss [mutilations], hurttis [hurts], and gret and cruell effutioun [effusion] of blud [blood] and hawy oppressioun doune on us, to our Souerane Lordis [Sovereign Lords], Bail[y]eis, and Officiaris, and ours, and to the nychtbouris [neighbours] of our said Burgh, innocently but ony occasioun" by the said Clan Leslie.
