Description | Record of a number of cases that came before the Burgh's bailie and head courts between August and October. 160cm long and 20cm wide, comprising five panels of parchment stitched together including a brieve, a letter issued in the name of Robert the Bruce, sewn to the main roll about half way along its length.
Originally one of a set of rolls, this is the only survivor: the Town Clerk in 1591, Thomas Molisone, undertook a survey of the town's records and found many in a poor state of decay, and appears to have preserved this item as an exemplar. |
