DescriptionMemorial of Captain Lockhart Gordon of the Royal Volunteers commanded by Colonel John Crawford Esquire to the Honourable the Magistrates of Aberdeen. Captain Gordon represents that the Council's offered reward of two guineas to anyone who will enlist in any of the regiments who suffered in the battle of Tornhausen will not be payable as soldiers are recruited to the regiments from those serving at home. Captain Gordon requests that the Council extend their loyal offer to his regiment.
