Administrative History | The East Parish Sessional School was transferred to Aberdeen School Board in 1873, and its name was changed to St Paul Street School. The school buildings were extended in 1883 at an estimated cost of £1,625 and re-opened on 10 January 1884. While building work was in progress, the classes were housed in St Paul Street Hall, Greyfriars Parish School and Princes Street Public School. The school was further extended in 1897. The school closed 30 June 1960 and was converted to accommodate the Education Department's music department. St Paul Street School pupils were transferred to Causewayend, Skene Street, Skene Square and Hanover Street Schools. Records of East Parish Sessional School, 1843 to 1846 and 1867 are held in the Town House branch of the City Archives (reference DD45). |
