Administrative History | The Pre Nursing College opened at 20 Albyn Place in September 1950, with the enrolment of 35 new students, 65 students who had transferred from the Pre Nursing Course at Powis Secondary School, and 33 students who had transferred from the Nursery Nurses Course at Seaton Primary School. The College offered courses of between one to three years to girls aged 15 to 17 years, leading to the Preliminary Examination of the General Nursing Council. The students were then eligible to apply to train as a nurse in a hospital. The College moved from Albyn Place to Linksfield Road in 1960. The College ceased operating as a separate entity in June 1972 when the Pre Nursing Course was transferred to Aberdeen Technical College. The Course continued to be taught at Linksfield Road until its transfer to the Middle School Annexe, Gallowgate in June 1975. |
